Daily Announcements - Friday, June 15th

Today there is a Fellowship Christian Athletes Huddle in the small gym at lunch. There will be an amazing speaker, games, and free delicious pizza. Everyone is welcome to attend.

 

Seniors: Your textbooks are due today by 3pm to the Theater Foyer.  Email notices were sent to you and your parents of what is owed already.  Seniors with outstanding obligations will have their cap & gown and diplomas held until obligations are cleared.  Please check your email or see the library staff for questions. 

Underclassmen: Email notices will be sent out this coming Monday to you and your parents of what is due by the last day of school.  Registration in August will be blocked until all outstanding obligations are taken care of. 

There will be NO printed noticed handed out by your 3rd period teacher of what is owed as in years past.  Please check your email or see the library staff in the Theater Foyer if you have questions.

 

Come join the CdM Martial Arts and Self-Defense Club for a Krav Maga martial arts and self-defense training session with the Newport Beach Police Department!  This is a great way to de-stress before finals week! The session takes place in the wrestling room today from 3:15 to 4:30pm.  Come by if you're interested.

 

Seniors, if you are driving yourself to Disneyland and do not have your ticket, make sure to stop by the ASB office today to get your ticket.  If you are leaving on the bus, busses depart at 8:30am on Tuesday.

 

Any girls interested in playing golf next school year should meet the golf coaches this coming Monday during lunch in the quad for more information.

The CDM Parent Career Showcase series is today at lunch in the “new” Learning Resource Center with Mr. George Roletter, Vice President of Digital Products and Marketing for Equator.com. Come hear about his successful career in the internet business.

HUGE congratulations to the CDM Newport Aquatic Center Varsity boy’s and girl’s crew teams who competed last weekend at the 2018 US Rowing Youth National Championships held in Northern California on Lake Natoma. Out of 154 high school crew teams competing in the regatta, the following NAC Varsity rowers are among the top 10 in the nation placing in the “A” finals in their perspective events: Isaac Clark and Ryan McDonald (3rd place), Jake Marlo and Harley Zieper (4th place), Emery Rolfes and Clay Rolfes (5th place), Nikolett Provenza and Nicole Harr (6th place) and Sasha Radovanovic (10th place).

Daily Announcements - Tuesday, June 12th

Immigrant America is having a club meeting today in room 226, regarding a special summer program. Be sure to attend if you want to earn community service hours at their new Spanish speaking citizenship class.

 

Our June PTA meeting is June 13th at 10:30.  This meeting will be held at the Port Street's Clubhouse on Port Westbourne and it's a special one...ALL members are welcome to attend, enjoy a delicious lunch, celebrate our new team of officers and honor moms of graduating seniors, who will share words of wisdom with us. Join us for some end-of-the-year inspiration!

 

Attention seniors! This is a reminder that final transcript request forms are due by tomorrow, June 13th at 3:00 P.M. to Mrs. Kailee Sasada in the counseling office. Please see your school loop email for procedures. No late forms will be accepted, no exceptions.

 

Attention seniors who have parking spots in the pool lot: The Living History Luncheon (remember that from 10th grade!) is this Thursday, June 14th.  The veterans will be coming to the luncheon in their honor being held in the Big Gym. The school will be having the veterans park in the pool parking lot to make it easier for them to get to the Big Gym (shorter walk).  Unfortunately, this means a lot of you will be inconvenienced.  We will be blocking out the spaces below with yellow tape, please do not move the tape.

Students planning on taking AP Calculus AB or BC next year: Please see Mr. Zimmerman’s school loop page for summer work. You will need to check out a text book before school ends. For more information please see Mr. Zimmerman in room 320.

 

Students taking AP Art History next year, please visit Ms. Valdes in room 502 for the Summer Museum Assignment.

Next year’s high school girls interested in doing golf next year, should meet with the golf coaches in the Quad at lunch on Monday (12:30), June 18, for more information.

Congratulations to Corona Del Mar Middle School Robotics teams who earned a 3rd place in State competition.  On Saturday, May 20th, a group of 10 Corona Del Mar 8th graders competed in the California C-STEM Roboplay Competition.  Way to go Alex Chanawatr, Will Geoghegan, Sydney Walls, Jackson Jaha-Anderson and Sonia Agarwal for your top 3 finish!

The CDM Parent Career Showcase series is today at lunch in the “new” Learning Resource Center with Mr. Fred Fourcher, CEO of a tech company and an entrepreneur. Come hear how he built his organization from ground up at a very young age and what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur!
