Spirit Run
Dear Corona del Mar Middle and High School families,
CDMSchool will be participating in the 29th Annual Newport-Mesa Spirit Run (“NMSR”) scheduled for Sunday, March 4, 2012 at Fashion Island. NMSR is an exciting community event and road race for children and adults. There are three adult races (15k, 10k, and 5k) and eight youth races (Youth 5k and seven ¼ to 1 mile races) beginning at 7:00 a.m. and ending at 11:30 a.m.In between races, runners and spectators enjoy a Youth & Fitness Expo featuring fun food, live music, activities and demonstrations, massage and shopping for adults, and health and fitness information provided by doctors, dentists, and fitness experts.
Fitness and fun is only a part of what CDM School will get for participating in NMSR. NMSR has a fund raising offer to all NMUSD High School sports teams. Contact info@nmspiritrun.orgfor the details. Also, CDM Middle School students, ask your Physical Education teachers about credit for completing a race at NMSR. Finally, NMSR is committed to supporting educational programs in the NMUSD. Simply by promoting and participating in NMSR’s 2012 event, CDM Middle and High Schools are guaranteed to receive a share of NMSR’s net earnings!
CDMSchoolcan maximize its share by maximizing its participation. Fortunately, there are many ways for CDM School families and friends to participate. Some of the ways to participate include:
- Register to run or walk in an adult or youth race;
- Walk as a family in the Adult 5k race and family walk; and
- Become a NMSR family sponsor (and in return receive gift cards, free entries, recognition in the NMSR brochure, and tax and other benefits).
NMSR is an exciting morning for families, schools, and the community to enjoy together. You can cheer on your child and neighbor as they finish their races, watch the NMUSD cheerleaders perform and students sing the National Anthem before each race, enjoy breakfast, youth activities, live music, and more. CDM Middle and High Schools, let’s show our school and community pride and support NMSR not only for ourselves but for our friends and neighbors in the district and the entire community!
