Nondiscrimination and Equivalent Opportunities in the Athletic Program

PARTICIPATION IN ATHLETIC COMPETITION (BP 6145.2)

The District’s athletic program shall be free from discrimination and discriminatory practices in accordance with state and federal law. The Superintendent or designee shall ensure that equivalent athletic opportunities are provided for both sexes.

No student shall be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, be denied equivalent opportunity in, or otherwise be discriminated against in interscholastic, intramural, or club athletics based on race, color, ancestry, national origin, immigration status, ethnic group identification, age, religion, marital or parental status, pregnancy, physical or mental disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity or expression or the perception of one or more of such characteristics; or association with a person or a group with one or more of these actual or perceived characteristics. (Education Codes 220, 221.5, 230; 5 CCR 4920; 34 CFR 106.41)

2017-18 Sports Participation data

On Monday, June 3rd, CDMMS eighth-grader Anabelle Taylor played in the first round of the CDM Middle School golf championships at Costa Mesa Country Club. On the 7th hole of the Los Lagos course, with a 169-yard shot over water, Anabelle hit a hole-in-one! Her 9-hole score of 48 finished in the top 8, and Anabelle will advance to the second round on Tuesday, June 4th. Congratulations, and good luck on the next round!
